LONGEVITY

Material & Care Guide

Simple habits help natural leather age with character.

MATERIAL & QUALITY

Made to be used and loved.

Quality is central to JINTENG. We select durable materials and work to minimise the use of harmful chemicals.

The leather used in our products is a by-product of the food industry, and our leather lining is chrome-free. We work with REACH-compliant tanneries to support standards designed to protect human health and the environment.

Natural leather varies slightly in grain, texture and colour. These differences are part of the character of a genuine material rather than a defect.

EVERYDAY CARE

Protect the finish.

  • Keep leather away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight, which can cause tonal changes.
  • Keep the product dry. If it becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally away from a heat source.
  • Avoid rubbing or scraping the surface against rough materials, and take care around ink and markers.
  • Buff smooth leather gently with a clean, dry cloth. Use specialist leather cleaner or conditioner sparingly and test it first on a discreet area.
  • Keep suede away from bright light and damp environments to reduce fading, mould and mildew.
  • Do not overfill bags, as sustained pressure can change their shape.
  • Store leather goods in a dry, ventilated place inside a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
  • Avoid moth balls and plastic bags, which can restrict air circulation around the leather.
  • Dark buffalo leather may transfer colour, so avoid prolonged contact with pale fabrics.
  • Slight variations in texture and colour are characteristics of genuine leather rather than defects.
